It's a part of it...

In the fall of 2006, while watching the news, I saw a couple of military children who had just lost their father. I wondered, “What is being done to help these children?” and then I asked myself, “What can ordinary citizens (with no military ties or background) do to help? After trying for months to shake this feeling, the questions didn't go away. This is why this project was launched.

How can we raise visibility to show support for our troops and raise funds to help these children?

We have developed a specially designed premium double-sided “Support Our Troops” car flag. These flags mount on the car windows. Why car flags? This is a very visible way of showing support for our troops and raising awareness.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 for the Military Family Fund. For each car flag sold a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Military Family Fund. Also, 100% of the donations received will be given to Military Family Fund.

In addition to the car flags, as part of the awareness and support for our troops, a special 3'x 5' “Support Our Troops” flag is being taken across Canada to allow Canadians to sign the flag showing their support for our troops and their families.

Our official launch for this project was on September 28th, 2007 with Team Ottawa-Orleans.

Please take the time to view the photos in the photo gallery, to see the journey of the flag. If there are not any pictures for your province - they will be coming soon. The first fully signed flag will now be taken to our troops to show our support. Another flag has now taken up the journey to collect more signatures.

To our troops and your families, we trust that you will feel the love and support of your fellow Canadians as you view the signatures and read the messages on the flag. It would take many, many pages to tell you of all the stories and comments of support that I've heard as this flag is making its way across this great country of ours. Your dedication to our country is truly appreciated. Thank you!

At the beginning of this project while talking to a military child I asked, “How do you feel about you parent being away for months?” she responded “It's a part of it”, and now we're doing our part!

Together we can make a difference!
